Letter of Recommendation for Michael Farnolo

December 21, 2013

To Whom It May Concern:

Thank you for the opportunity to recommend Michael Farnolo. I am a yoga instructor and a 28-year veteran English teacher. We met two and a half years ago when we were both taking part in a 10-day self-transformation program at the Himalayan Institute in the summer of 2011. While chopping vegetables as part of our karma yoga, Mike impressed me with his kind, gentle spirit. He clearly had a serious practice, and I, as well as other members of the group, gravitated toward him. Several residents and I took part in informal classes that Mike led in pranayama. Before I left, I filmed him on the top of the Sound of Music Hill, practicing pranayama and asanas: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ze60JL4U_NU. We also took walks through the countryside, discussing spiritual readings, pranayama, and our asana practices.

After leaving the Himalayan Institute, Mike and I maintained our friendship. We talk frequently on the phone and have met for lunch and a strolls on the Institute grounds. Mike is bright young man with a loving nature and is committed to living a yogic lifestyle. He continues to impress me with his compassionate and thoughtful demeanor. A natural teacher who is skilled in asana and pranayama. he would make an ideal candidate for teacher training. He is an outstanding person and a student of exceptional promise. His great respect for yoga and peaceful presence continue to inspire me.
